Equipment

  • Cocktail shaker or mason jar
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Tall glasses or mason jars
  • Stirring spoon
  • Strainer (optional)
  • Ice cube tray
  • Knife and cutting board
  • Small saucepan (optional for syrup)

Ingredients

  • 1 cup chilled apple cider or spiced apple cider
  • ½ cup ginger beer ginger ale, or sparkling apple cider
  • ¼ cup cranberry juice
  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon or lime juice
  • 2 tsp ginger or cinnamon-ginger simple syrup or berry syrup
  • 2 –3 apple slices
  • Orange slices a few rounds
  • Fresh mint or pomegranate arils for garnish
  • Optional: 1 star anise whole cloves, cinnamon stick
  • ¼ cup sparkling water or club soda optional, for lighter version
  • Ice cubes or frozen cranberries

Instructions

  • Fill a tall glass with ice or a few frozen cranberries.
  • In a shaker or jar, combine the apple cider, cranberry juice, lemon juice, and syrup.
  • Shake or stir well.
  • Add ginger beer (or ginger ale/sparkling cider) and optional sparkling water. Stir gently.
  • Pour over the prepared glass of ice.
  • Add apple and orange slices, mint, and pomegranate arils for garnish.
  • Optional: Drop in a cinnamon stick, clove, or star anise for extra spice.
  • Serve immediately while cold and bubbly.
