  • Fine-mesh strainer
  • Jigger or shot glass
  • Measuring spoons
  • Small plate or bowl
  • Rocks glass or coupe glass
  • Ice cubes
  • Spoon or tiny whisk

Ingredients

  • 1 oz vodka
  • 1 oz chocolate liqueur
  • 1 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 0.5 oz simple syrup
  • 0.5 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 egg white
  • 1 tbsp granulated sugar for rimming, optional
  • ice cubes

Instructions

  • Rim the glass with water and dip in granulated sugar (optional).
  • Fill shaker halfway with ice. Add vodka, chocolate liqueur, cocoa powder, simple syrup, vanilla, salt, and egg white.
  • Shake hard for 15–20 seconds until very cold and foamy.
  • Strain into your prepared glass and serve immediately. Dust with cocoa powder if desired.

Notes

Use pasteurized eggs or a vegan foamer if you prefer. Add espresso powder for a coffee kick or more syrup for extra sweetness. Drink immediately for the best foam and chill.
