Ingredients

  • 2 oz tequila blanco or reposado
  • 1 oz chocolate liqueur
  • 0.5-1 oz simple syrup adjust to taste
  • 0.5 small red chili pepper sliced, seeds removed for less heat
  • 0.5 oz fresh lime juice
  • 0.5 oz heavy cream or whole milk optional
  • ice cubes
  • chocolate shavings or chili flakes for garnish
  • cocoa powder or sugar for rimming glass, optional

Instructions

  • Add ice cubes to a cocktail shaker.
  • Pour in tequila, chocolate liqueur, simple syrup, lime juice, and cream if using.
  • Add chili slices.
  • Shake vigorously for 15-20 seconds until chilled.
  • (Optional) Rim a martini glass with cocoa powder or sugar by running a lime wedge around the rim and dipping it in the powder or sugar.
  • Strain into the martini glass through a fine mesh strainer.
  • Garnish with chocolate shavings or chili flakes.

Notes

Adjust sweetness and heat to taste by varying the simple syrup and chili amount. Use Godiva or similar liqueur for richer chocolate flavor. Omit cream for a dairy-free version. The chili variety affects spice level—experiment with jalapeño for milder heat or Thai chili for more intensity.
