Ingredients

  • 2 oz bourbon or whiskey
  • 0.5 oz chestnut liqueur or chestnut syrup
  • 0.25 oz simple syrup adjust to taste
  • 0.5 oz fresh lemon juice
  • 2 dashes Angostura bitters
  • ice cubes
  • sparkling water optional, for a lighter drink
  • roasted chestnuts optional garnish

Instructions

  • Fill your mixing glass halfway with ice cubes.
  • Add bourbon, chestnut liqueur or syrup, simple syrup, lemon juice, and bitters.
  • Stir gently with a bar spoon for 20–30 seconds until chilled.
  • Strain into a chilled rocks glass over fresh ice.
  • Optional: Add a splash of sparkling water for a lighter texture.
  • Garnish with a roasted chestnut or a twist of lemon.

Notes

Chestnut syrup offers a mellow sweetness, while chestnut liqueur adds depth. Use large ice cubes to slow dilution. Garnishing with roasted chestnuts adds aroma and seasonal flair.
