Equipment

  • Tall glass or mason jar
  • Measuring spoons
  • Measuring cup
  • Small spoon or stir stick
  • Knife and cutting board
  • Strainer
  • Ice cube tray

Ingredients

  • 0.5 cup tart cherry juice or regular cherry juice
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract or 1 inch scraped vanilla bean
  • 1 cup sparkling water or club soda or ginger ale
  • 1-2 tsp honey or maple syrup or vanilla syrup, to taste
  • 1 tsp lime juice or lemon juice
  • ice cubes or frozen cherries
  • fresh cherries for garnish
  • mint leaves optional

Instructions

  • Fill a tall glass halfway with ice cubes or frozen cherries.
  • Pour in the cherry juice and stir in the vanilla extract or scraped vanilla bean.
  • Add the honey, maple syrup, or vanilla syrup, stirring until blended.
  • Squeeze in the lime juice or lemon juice for brightness.
  • Slowly top with sparkling water, club soda, or ginger ale.
  • Stir gently with a spoon to preserve the fizz.
  • Garnish with fresh cherries or a sprig of mint leaves.

Notes

Tart cherry juice adds depth, while regular cherry juice keeps it playful. Try ginger ale for a softer finish, or simmer a vanilla bean with honey for rich syrup. Frozen cherries work as flavorful ice cubes, and mint adds a cool contrast without overpowering the cherry.
