Equipment

  • Large pitcher
  • Long stirring spoon
  • Knife
  • Cutting Board
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Wine glasses or mason jars
  • Small plate
  • Peeler

Ingredients

  • 1 bottle white wine Pinot Grigio, Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling, or Chardonnay
  • 2 cups fresh apple cider or spiced apple cider
  • 0.5 cup caramel vodka or caramel flavored vodka
  • 0.25 cup caramel sauce or caramel syrup
  • 2 Granny Smith apples sliced
  • 1 Honeycrisp apple sliced
  • 1 orange sliced
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 1 star anise optional
  • 1 cup ginger ale or sparkling apple cider
  • ice cubes optional

Instructions

  • Toss the sliced apples, orange, cinnamon sticks, and star anise into your pitcher.
  • Pour in the white wine, apple cider, and caramel vodka.
  • Stir in the caramel sauce until it’s dissolved.
  • Cover and chill in the fridge for at least 2 hours so the flavors can mingle.
  • Right before serving, add the ginger ale or sparkling apple cider.
  • If you want, rim your glasses with sugar—dip them in caramel sauce, then into sugar.
  • Pour the sangria into glasses, making sure everyone gets some fruit.

Notes

For a sweeter sangria, use Moscato or Prosecco. For less sweetness, choose a dry Riesling or Pinot Blanc. Add brandy, bourbon, or spiced rum for extra kick, or replace some wine with apple juice or sparkling water for a lighter version.
