Cantaloupe Cooler Cocktail Recipe

Cantaloupe Cooler Cocktail Recipe
This drink is all about blending fresh cantaloupe with a few easy ingredients. I stick with basic kitchen tools and try to be precise, but honestly, it’s pretty forgiving.

Equipment

  • Blender: I go for a high-power blender—makes the puree smooth.
  • Fine mesh strainer: Helps get rid of pulp and seeds so the drink’s clean.
  • Measuring cups and spoons: Handy for getting things just right.
  • Bar spoon: A long-handled spoon works for mixing.
  • Jigger: For measuring out the booze (don’t eyeball it, trust me).
  • Shaker (optional): Nice for chilling and mixing, but not required.
  • Citrus juicer: A good handheld juicer gets every drop from the limes.
  • Glasses: Tall glasses are best—more room for ice.
  • Knife and cutting board: For prepping the cantaloupe, obviously.

Ingredients

  • Fresh cantaloupe about 2 cups, cubed, ripe and chilled
  • Vodka — 2 ounces per cocktail
  • Fresh lime juice — 1 ounce
  • Simple syrup — 1 ounce adjust to taste
  • Club soda — 2-3 ounces chilled
  • Ice cubes
  • Mint leaves for garnish
  • Optional: Cantaloupe balls or lime wheels for garnish

Instructions

  • Cut the cantaloupe in half, scoop out the seeds, and chop it into cubes.
  • Throw the cubes in a blender and blend until smooth.
  • Strain the puree through a fine mesh strainer into a bowl—press to get all the juice.
  • In a shaker, combine vodka, lime juice, simple syrup, and 2 ounces of cantaloupe juice.
  • Add ice and shake it up until it’s nice and cold.
  • Strain into a tall glass filled with fresh ice.
  • Top with chilled club soda.
  • Stir gently with a bar spoon.
  • Garnish with mint leaves, and if you’re feeling fancy, cantaloupe balls or a lime wheel.

Notes

I like to use cantaloupe that’s sweet but not mushy. If the drink ends up too thick, I’ll just splash in a little more club soda.
For a non-alcoholic version, leave out the vodka and pour in extra soda. Easy fix.
If I’m prepping ahead, I stash the cantaloupe juice in the fridge for up to a day. I only add the soda right before serving so it stays fizzy.
Sometimes I swap vodka for gin if I want a different vibe. Muddling mint at the bottom of the glass is also a nice touch for more freshness.
If I’m craving a bolder melon flavor, I’ll throw in more puree and cut back a little on the soda. It’s all about what you’re in the mood for.
