  • Muddler
  • Jigger or shot glass
  • Tall glass
  • Fine-mesh strainer
  • Ice cubes
  • Bar spoon
  • Small plate

Ingredients

  • 2 oz silver tequila
  • 1 oz peppermint syrup
  • 1 oz fresh lime juice
  • 2 oz club soda
  • 3-4 mini candy canes crushed
  • ice cubes
  • extra candy canes for garnish
  • lime wedge optional, for garnish
  • white sugar optional, for rimming glass

Instructions

  • Rim glass with lime juice and dip in sugar or crushed candy canes if desired.
  • Muddle 2 crushed mini candy canes in the bottom of a cocktail shaker.
  • Add tequila, peppermint syrup, lime juice, and a handful of ice.
  • Shake for about 15 seconds until well chilled.
  • Strain into prepared glass filled with ice.
  • Top with club soda.
  • Stir gently to combine.
  • Garnish with extra crushed candy cane, lime wedge, or a whole candy cane on the rim.

Notes

No peppermint syrup? Use simple syrup with a drop of peppermint extract. Adjust sweetness by varying syrup amount. Swap club soda for sparkling water if desired. Clear tequila keeps flavors bright. Strain well if you prefer fewer candy bits. Increase tequila for a stronger drink or club soda for a lighter one.
