This creamy fall cocktail features real butternut squash puree, a touch of lemon, and either vodka or bourbon. Subtle sweetness and gentle spice make it a cozy, unique sipper for cool evenings.
Combine butternut squash puree, simple syrup, lemon juice, and vodka (or bourbon) in a cocktail shaker.
Add ice to fill the shaker about halfway.
Shake well for about 20 seconds.
Strain through a mesh strainer into a glass with fresh ice or serve up in a coupe.
Sprinkle a bit of ground cinnamon on top, if using.
Garnish with fresh sage or a cinnamon stick.
Notes
If the drink is too thick, add water or more lemon juice. Vanilla simple syrup adds an extra twist. Homemade puree is best, but canned works. Rim glass with cinnamon sugar for a special touch.
