  • Old fashioned glass
  • Cocktail stirrer or long spoon
  • Measuring jigger or shot glass
  • Strainer
  • Small bowl
  • Peeler or knife
  • Large ice cube tray

Ingredients

  • 2 oz bourbon pecan-infused if available
  • 0.5 oz brown sugar simple syrup
  • 2 dashes Angostura bitters
  • 0.25 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1 orange peel for garnish
  • 2 candied or toasted pecans for garnish
  • 1 large ice cube

Instructions

  • Add brown sugar simple syrup, vanilla extract, and bitters to the bottom of the glass and stir gently.
  • Pour in the bourbon and add a large ice cube.
  • Stir for 30 seconds to mix and chill.
  • Twist the orange peel over the glass to release oils and drop it in.
  • Finish with candied or toasted pecans for garnish and serve.

Notes

For stronger pecan flavor, infuse bourbon with toasted pecans for 2–5 days. Add more brown sugar syrup for extra sweetness. Always use fresh orange peel for best aroma.
