3/4ozbrown sugar simple syrupequal parts brown sugar and water, heated and cooled
1large egg yolk
1/2ozheavy cream
1dashAngostura bitters
ice cubes
freshly grated nutmegoptional, for garnish

Instructions
Add bourbon, brown sugar simple syrup, egg yolk, heavy cream, and bitters to a cocktail shaker.
Fill the shaker with ice cubes.
Shake hard for about 15–20 seconds until smooth and well mixed.
Strain the mix through a fine mesh strainer into a chilled rocks or coupe glass.
Garnish with a sprinkle of nutmeg, a cinnamon stick, or a twist of orange zest if desired.
