Equipment

  • Cocktail shaker
  • Fine-mesh strainer
  • Muddler
  • Jigger or measuring cup
  • Collins glass
  • Ice cube tray
  • Blender (for blueberry syrup)

Ingredients

  • 2 oz vodka
  • 1 oz fresh lemon juice
  • 1 oz blueberry syrup
  • 4 oz lemonade
  • Fresh blueberries for garnish
  • Ice cubes
  • Mint sprig optional
  • For the blueberry syrup:
  • 1 cup fresh blueberries
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup water

Instructions

  • Make the blueberry syrup: Mix blueberries, sugar, and water in a small pot. Then, bring to a boil and simmer for 10 minutes. After that, strain and cool.
  • Fill a cocktail shaker with ice cubes.
  • Add vodka, lemon juice, and blueberry syrup to the shaker.
  • Shake for 15-20 seconds until well chilled.
  • Fill a Collins glass with fresh ice.
  • Strain the mixture into the glass.
  • Top with lemonade and stir gently.
  • Garnish with fresh blueberries and mint.

Notes

The blueberry syrup keeps in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.
For a stronger drink, add an extra 1/2 oz of vodka.
Make a virgin version by skipping the vodka and adding extra lemonade.
For a frozen version, blend all ingredients with 1 cup of ice until smooth.
The drink tastes best with fresh-squeezed lemon juice rather than bottled.
