Equipment

  • Cocktail shaker
  • Tall glass or mason jar
  • Measuring spoons and cups
  • Strainer
  • Long spoon or muddler
  • Ice cube tray

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup fresh blueberries or frozen, thawed
  • 1 tablespoon honey, agave nectar, or maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice or lime juice
  • 1/4 cup cold water
  • 1 can sparkling water 355ml, plain or lemon-lime
  • ice cubes
  • fresh mint leaves for garnish
  • extra blueberries for garnish
  • lemon or lime slices for garnish

Instructions

  • Muddle blueberries and honey in a shaker until berries are smashed.
  • Add lemon juice and cold water, mix quickly.
  • Fill a tall glass with ice cubes. Strain blueberry mixture into the glass.
  • Top with sparkling water and stir gently to keep the fizz.
  • Garnish with extra blueberries, mint leaves, and lemon or lime slice. Serve immediately.

Notes

Use ripe blueberries for best flavor. Try different sweeteners to mix it up. Prep the blueberry-lemon mix ahead for quick serving. Kids and adults both love this—make extra for parties!
