Blueberry Mojito Mocktail Recipe
I use sweet blueberries, fresh mint, and tangy lime juice to whip up this drink. Having the right gear and ingredients honestly makes a difference for taste and how it looks.

Equipment

  • Muddler: I use this to gently crush the blueberries and mint, which helps release their juices and flavors.
  • Tall Glass: A sturdy glass, like a highball or Collins, works best so there’s enough space for mixing and adding ice.
  • Bar Spoon: I rely on a long spoon to stir everything together without making a mess.
  • Measuring Jigger: This tool helps me measure lime juice and syrup for consistency.
  • Fine Mesh Strainer: If I want a smoother drink, I’ll use this to strain out bits of fruit and mint before serving.
  • Ice Cube Tray: I always make sure I have fresh ice ready to keep the drink cool.

Ingredients

  • ½ cup fresh blueberries plus extra for garnish
  • 6-8 fresh mint leaves
  • 1 tablespoon simple syrup or adjust for sweetness
  • Juice of 1 lime about 2 tablespoons
  • ¾ cup sparkling water like club soda or seltzer
  • Ice cubes
  • Lime slices and extra mint sprigs for garnish

Instructions

  • Add the blueberries and mint leaves to the bottom of the glass.
  • Use the muddler to gently mash them together until the berries break down and the mint becomes fragrant.
  • Pour in the simple syrup and freshly squeezed lime juice.
  • Add a handful of ice cubes to fill the glass about three-quarters full.
  • Slowly top off with sparkling water.
  • Stir everything together with the bar spoon to mix the flavors.
  • Garnish with extra blueberries, lime slices, and a sprig of mint if desired.
  • Serve right away for the freshest taste and best fizz.

Notes

If the drink is too tart, I just add more simple syrup until it tastes right to me. For a smoother look, I sometimes strain the mixture before adding ice and sparkling water.
To change up the flavor, I swap blueberries for raspberries or blackberries. If I’m making several drinks, I prep the fruit and mint ahead, but I only add the sparkling water just before serving to keep it fizzy.
I recommend using filtered water for ice cubes, as it keeps the drink tasting clean. If I want extra chill, I freeze some blueberries to use as ice.
