  • Cocktail shaker
  • Muddler
  • Jigger or measuring cup
  • Ice
  • Strainer

Ingredients

For one cocktail, you'll need:

  • 2 oz vodka
  • 1/2 cup fresh blueberries
  • 1 oz fresh lime juice
  • 4-6 oz ginger beer
  • 1/4 oz ginger syrup optional
  • Ice
  • Mint sprig and extra blueberries for garnish

Use good quality vodka for the best taste.

Instructions

  • Add blueberries to the shaker. Muddle them gently.
  • Pour in vodka, lime juice, and ginger syrup if using. Fill the shaker with ice.
  • Shake well for 10-15 seconds.
  • Fill your mug or glass with ice. Strain the mixture into it.
  • Top with ginger beer. Stir gently.
  • Garnish with a mint sprig and a few blueberries.

Serve right away and enjoy!

    Notes

    This recipe is easy to adjust.
    For a less sweet version, skip the ginger syrup. To make it boozy, add an extra half ounce of vodka. For a mocktail, leave out the vodka and use more ginger beer.
    You can prep the blueberry mixture ahead of time. Just add the ginger beer when ready to serve. This drink is best enjoyed fresh, as the carbonation from the ginger beer will fade over time.
    Try using different berries like raspberries or blackberries for variety. You can also swap vodka for gin or white rum to create new flavor combos.
