Equipment

  • Cocktail shaker
  • Muddler
  • Fine-mesh strainer
  • Jigger or measuring tool
  • Collins glass
  • Ice

Ingredients

  • 2 oz premium vodka
  • 1/2 cup fresh blueberries
  • 4-5 fresh basil leaves
  • 1 oz fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 oz simple syrup
  • Club soda
  • Extra blueberries and basil for garnish

Instructions

  • Add blueberries and basil leaves to the shaker.
  • Muddle gently until the blueberries release their juice and the basil releases its oils.
  • Pour in the vodka, lemon juice, and simple syrup.
  • Fill the shaker with ice and shake for 15-20 seconds.
  • Fill a Collins glass with fresh ice.
  • Double strain the mixture into the glass to remove any berry pieces.
  • Top with club soda and stir gently.
  • Garnish with fresh blueberries and a basil leaf.

Notes

The drink can be made ahead of time except for the club soda. Store the mixed ingredients in the fridge for up to 4 hours.
For a stronger basil flavor, let the leaves sit in the vodka for 30 minutes before mixing.
Frozen blueberries work well as a substitute when fresh ones aren't available.
The simple syrup amount can be adjusted based on the sweetness of the blueberries.
