Ingredients

  • 1 cup fresh blueberries
  • 8-10 fresh basil leaves
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup
  • 4 ounces coconut water
  • Club soda to top
  • Ice cubes
  • Extra blueberries and basil leaves for garnish

Instructions

  • Add blueberries and basil leaves to the shaker.
  • Muddle the blueberries and basil until the berries release their juice.
  • Pour in lime juice, honey, and coconut water.
  • Fill the shaker with ice and shake for 15-20 seconds.
  • Strain the mixture into two ice-filled glasses.
  • Top with club soda and stir gently.
  • Garnish with fresh blueberries and basil leaves.

Notes

Store fresh blueberries in the fridge for up to 1 week. They work best when firm and ripe.
Make a blended version by combining all ingredients except club soda in a blender with ice.
For a sweeter drink, add more honey or maple syrup to taste.
Double or triple the recipe for parties by mixing ingredients in a pitcher.
Skip the straining step if you prefer a more rustic texture with bits of blueberry.
