Ingredients

  • 1.5 oz vodka
  • 1 oz blue curaçao
  • 3 oz lemonade
  • 2 oz pineapple juice
  • 0.5 oz lemon juice fresh
  • ice cubes for shaking and serving
  • lemon wheel for garnish
  • maraschino cherry for garnish

Instructions

  • Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with ice.
  • Add vodka, blue curaçao, lemonade, pineapple juice, and fresh lemon juice.
  • Shake for about 10 seconds until cold.
  • Strain into a hurricane glass packed with fresh ice.
  • Garnish with a lemon wheel and a maraschino cherry. Serve immediately.

Notes

Use lemonade that’s cold and not overly sweet; fresh lemon juice brightens the flavor and keeps the drink from reading too sweet. Lighten with a splash of soda water, or bump the pineapple juice by 0.5 oz for extra tropical notes. Keep blue curaçao steady for a bold color, and don’t skimp on ice to keep everything crisp.
