Equipment

  • Cocktail shaker
  • Jigger or measuring tool
  • Strainer
  • Rocks glass or coupe glass
  • Bar spoon
  • Ice cubes

Ingredients

  • 2 oz blue curacao liqueur
  • 1 oz triple sec optional, for extra citrus punch
  • 1.5 oz sour mix lemon juice and simple syrup
  • 0.5 oz grenadine for color and sweetness
  • 1 oz fruit juice orange or pineapple
  • ice cubes
  • lemon wedge, orange slice, or cherry for garnish

Instructions

  • Fill the shaker halfway with ice.
  • Add blue curacao, triple sec, sour mix, and fruit juice.
  • Shake hard for about 10–15 seconds.
  • Strain into a chilled rocks glass with fresh ice.
  • Slowly pour in grenadine so it sinks for a layered effect.
  • Garnish with a lemon or orange slice. Serve immediately.

Notes

Fresh sour mix makes a huge difference (mix lemon juice and simple syrup). Pineapple juice adds tropical edge, orange juice keeps it classic. Adjust tartness with more or less sour mix, and sweeten to taste. Always shake well and serve extra cold for crisp flavor.
