Ingredients

  • 2 oz silver tequila
  • 1 oz blue curacao orange liqueur
  • 1 oz lime juice freshly squeezed
  • 0.5 oz simple syrup adjust to taste
  • 1 cup crushed ice or ice cubes
  • salt for rim, optional
  • 1 wedge lime for garnish

Instructions

  • Rub a lime wedge around the rim of a margarita glass, then dip the rim into salt on a small plate.
  • Add tequila, blue curacao, lime juice, simple syrup, and crushed ice to a blender.
  • Blend until smooth and slushy.
  • Pour into the prepared margarita glass.
  • Garnish with a lime wedge and serve immediately.

Notes

For a smoother texture, use crushed ice and blend well. Adjust sweetness and tartness to taste with more or less simple syrup and lime juice. For extra orange flavor, substitute simple syrup with triple sec. A sugar rim works as a fun alternative to salt. Easily scale up the recipe for groups.
