Equipment

  • Cocktail shaker
  • Jigger or measuring tool
  • Margarita glass
  • Strainer
  • Citrus juicer
  • Small plate for salt
  • Bar spoon

Ingredients

  • 2 oz blanco tequila
  • 1 oz blue curacao orange liqueur
  • 1 oz lime juice freshly squeezed
  • 0.5 oz triple sec optional, for extra orange flavor
  • 0.5 oz simple syrup
  • kosher salt for rim
  • 1 wedge lime for garnish

Instructions

  • Rub a lime wedge around the rim of a margarita glass and dip the rim into kosher salt. Set glass aside.
  • Add tequila, blue curacao, lime juice, triple sec, and simple syrup to a cocktail shaker.
  • Fill the shaker with ice and shake well for about 15 seconds until cold.
  • Fill the prepared margarita glass with fresh ice. Strain the cocktail into the glass.
  • Garnish with a lime wedge on the rim and serve immediately.

Notes

Always use fresh lime juice for the best flavor. Adjust the sweetness with more or less simple syrup as needed. For a lighter drink, reduce tequila or add extra lime juice. Chilling the glass before serving helps the drink stay cold longer.
