  • Highball glass or champagne flute
  • Bar spoon

Ingredients

  • 2 oz blackberry whiskey or blackberry bourbon
  • 1 oz fresh lemon juice
  • 1 oz simple syrup
  • 6 fresh blackberries plus extra for garnish
  • 2 –3 fresh mint leaves
  • Club soda sparkling water, or ginger ale (to top off)
  • Crushed ice enough to fill glass
  • 1 lemon wheel for garnish
  • 1 mint sprig for garnish

Instructions

  • Add fresh blackberries and mint leaves to a cocktail shaker.
  • Muddle gently until the berries are broken down and the mint is fragrant.
  • Add blackberry whiskey, lemon juice, and simple syrup to the shaker.
  • Fill the shaker with ice and shake for 15–20 seconds.
  • Strain the mixture into a highball glass filled with crushed ice.
  • Top off with club soda, sparkling water, or ginger ale.
  • Stir gently with a bar spoon to combine.
  • Garnish with a lemon wheel, fresh blackberries, and a mint sprig.
  • Serve immediately while fizzy and cold.
