  • Bar spoon
  • Jigger
  • Strainer
  • Tall glass
  • Small knife
  • Cutting Board
  • Ice crusher or mallet

Ingredients

  • 6-8 fresh blackberries plus extra for garnish
  • 8-10 fresh mint leaves
  • 2 oz white rum
  • 1 oz fresh lime juice
  • 1 oz simple syrup or mint syrup for extra mint flavor
  • club soda or soda water for topping up
  • crushed ice enough to fill your glass
  • lime wedges for garnish
  • mint sprigs for garnish

Instructions

  • Add blackberries and mint leaves to a cocktail shaker.
  • Add simple syrup and lime juice.
  • Muddle gently to release flavors without making mint bitter.
  • Pour in the white rum.
  • Add ice and shake for 10 seconds.
  • Strain into a tall glass filled with crushed ice.
  • Top with club soda or soda water.
  • Stir gently with a bar spoon.
  • Garnish with lime wedges, blackberries, and mint sprigs.

Notes

Fresh lime juice offers the best flavor. Adjust sweetness with more syrup if desired. For stronger mint flavor, use mint syrup. Without a shaker, build the drink in the glass and stir well before adding soda water.
