Blackberry Cobbler Cocktail

Blackberry Cobbler Cocktail Recipe
A dessert-inspired, fruit-forward cocktail that tastes like blackberry cobbler in a glass. Muddled blackberries shake with your choice of bourbon, rum, vodka, or whiskey, plus lemon, vanilla, and blackberry syrup—served over crushed ice for a sweet-tart, refreshing sip.

Equipment

  • Cocktail shaker
  • Muddler
  • Fine-mesh strainer
  • Measuring jigger
  • Short glass (old fashioned)
  • Bar spoon
  • Ice crusher or mallet
  • Small saucepan

Ingredients

  • 6-8 blackberries plus extra for garnish; fresh or thawed frozen
  • 2 oz spirit of choice bourbon, rum, vodka, or whiskey
  • 1 oz blackberry syrup or any berry syrup
  • 0.5 oz lemon juice freshly squeezed
  • 0.25 tsp vanilla extract
  • 0.5 oz simple syrup or honey, to taste
  • crushed ice to fill the glass
  • club soda or ginger beer optional, to top
  • lemon twist optional, for garnish

Instructions

  • Add blackberries and simple syrup to a cocktail shaker; muddle until very juicy.
  • Add your spirit of choice, lemon juice, vanilla extract, and blackberry syrup. Fill the shaker with ice.
  • Shake for 10–15 seconds until well chilled.
  • Strain into a short glass packed with crushed ice.
  • Optional: top with a splash of club soda or ginger beer and give a gentle stir.
  • Garnish with a few blackberries and a lemon twist. Serve immediately.

Notes

Bourbon adds cozy warmth; rum makes it smoother; vodka keeps it clean. If you don’t have blackberry syrup, simmer equal parts blackberries, sugar, and water for 5–8 minutes, strain, and cool. Adjust sweetness by adding more simple syrup or lemon to taste.
