Measuring cups and spoons
1 Small bowl (optional, for muddling fruit)
Wine glasses or tumblers (for serving)
1 Strainer (optional, for smoother pour)
Ingredients

bottle
750ml dry red wine (Cabernet, Zinfandel, Rioja, or Tempranillo)
1/2
cup
brandy
or substitute with vodka or raspberry liqueur

cup
pomegranate juice
1/3
cup
simple syrup
or substitute with honey

cup
blackberries
fresh or frozen
1
cup
seedless black grapes
1
cup
blueberries

black plums
sliced

small apple
chopped (optional)

sparkling water
add just before serving
Instructions
Wash all the fruit thoroughly.
Slice the black plums and chop the apple.
Add blackberries, grapes, blueberries, sliced plums, and chopped apple to a large pitcher.
Pour in the red wine, brandy (or vodka/liqueur), and pomegranate juice.
Add the simple syrup or honey and stir well to combine.
(Optional) Muddle a few berries in a small bowl before adding to intensify the fruit flavor.
Cover the pitcher and refrigerate for at least 4 hours to chill and let the flavors blend.
Just before serving, add the sparkling water and stir gently.
Pour into glasses, spoon in extra fruit, and serve chilled.
