Equipment

  • A cocktail shaker for mixing the ingredients
  • A jigger to measure out the liquids
  • A strainer to pour the drink without ice
  • A citrus juicer for fresh lime juice
  • A fine grater for zesting orange peel and spices
  • A muddler to crush ingredients if needed

Ingredients

Here's what I use for the Autumn Spice Margarita:

  • 2 oz tequila
  • 1 oz triple sec
  • 1 oz fresh lime juice
  • 1 oz apple cider
  • 1 tsp maple syrup
  • 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
  • A pinch of ground nutmeg
  • Optional: orange slice and cinnamon stick for garnish

I love how these ingredients bring warm, spicy notes to the drink. 🍂

Instructions

Follow these steps to mix the cocktail:

  • Prepare your glass: Rim it with cinnamon-sugar and add ice.
  • Mix ingredients: In a shaker, combine tequila, triple sec, lime juice, apple cider, maple syrup, ground cinnamon, and nutmeg with ice.
  • Shake well: Shake the mixture for about 15 seconds.
  • Strain: Pour into your prepared glass.
  • Garnish: Add an orange slice and cinnamon stick if you like.

I find each step enhances the flavor and presentation. 🥂

    Notes

I enjoy tweaking the recipe to my liking. You can adjust the maple syrup for sweetness or use ginger for an extra kick.
For a non-alcoholic version, swap the tequila and triple sec for ginger ale.
