Equipment

  • Copper mug or Moscow mule mug
  • Jigger
  • Cocktail shaker
  • Long spoon
  • Knife
  • Cutting Board
  • Citrus juicer
  • Ice

Ingredients

  • 2 oz vodka or bourbon
  • 3 oz fresh apple cider unfiltered preferred
  • 0.5 oz fresh lime juice or lemon juice
  • 1-2 oz spicy ginger beer or ginger ale
  • apple slices for garnish
  • lime wedge for garnish
  • fresh mint for garnish
  • cinnamon stick optional, for garnish
  • grated nutmeg or ground cinnamon a tiny pinch for aroma
  • ice cubes enough to fill mug

Instructions

  • Add ice to your copper mug until it’s almost full.
  • Pour in vodka (or bourbon) with a jigger.
  • Add the apple cider and freshly squeezed lime juice.
  • Gently stir with a long spoon to mix everything together.
  • Top with spicy ginger beer or ginger ale, then give a light stir.
  • Garnish with apple slices, a lime wedge, and a cinnamon stick for extra flavor.
  • Sprinkle a little ground cinnamon or nutmeg on top if you like a spiced note.
  • Serve right away while it’s cold and fizzy.

Notes

Always use fresh apple cider for the best flavor. Copper mugs keep this mule extra cold. Try bourbon for a richer, warmer profile. Garnish with fresh apple and cinnamon for aroma. Mix up a batch in advance, but add ginger beer right before serving to keep the fizz.
