Instructions
Add apple pieces, mint leaves, and simple syrup to a cocktail shaker, then gently muddle to release juices and oils.
Add whiskey and lemon juice, then fill the shaker with crushed ice.
Shake for about 10 seconds until well chilled.
Strain into a rocks glass packed with crushed ice.
Optional: add a small splash of apple cider to soften the flavor.
Garnish with a mint sprig and a cinnamon stick; serve immediately.
Notes
Fresh lemon juice brightens the drink; adjust sweetness by adding a touch more simple syrup or honey. If using cinnamon whiskey, skip the cinnamon stick garnish to avoid overpowering spice. Best served icy cold right after shaking.
