Equipment

  • Cocktail shaker or mason jar with lid
  • Tall glass
  • Jigger or measuring spoons
  • Fine-mesh strainer
  • Long spoon or stir stick
  • Citrus juicer
  • Knife and cutting board
  • Small saucepan
  • Ice cube tray

Ingredients

  • 1 cup apple juice chilled; apple cider works for deeper flavor
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon syrup or simple syrup plus a pinch of ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice fresh is best
  • 1/2 cup sparkling water or club soda chilled
  • 1 apple slice for garnish
  • 1 cinnamon stick for garnish
  • ice cubes

Instructions

  • Fill your shaker with ice cubes.
  • Add apple juice, cinnamon syrup (or simple syrup and cinnamon), and lemon juice.
  • Shake it up for about 10 seconds until it’s nice and cold.
  • Strain everything into a tall glass with fresh ice.
  • Gently top it off with sparkling water or club soda.
  • Give it a soft stir to blend.
  • Pop in an apple slice and a cinnamon stick for garnish.

Notes

If you don’t have cinnamon syrup, simmer equal parts sugar and water with a cinnamon stick for 5–10 minutes, then let it cool. Adjust sweetness to taste. Try freezing apple juice into ice cubes to keep your drink cold without watering it down.
