  • Rocks glass or coupe glass
  • Small whisk
  • Ice cubes

Ingredients

  • 2 oz Eggnog store-bought or homemade
  • 1.5 oz Aperol Italian aperitif
  • 0.5 oz Gin optional, adds depth
  • 0.25 oz Simple syrup adjust to taste
  • 0.5 oz Fresh orange juice
  • 0.25 oz Fresh lime juice
  • Ice cubes for shaking
  • Freshly grated nutmeg garnish
  • Orange twist or slice optional garnish

Instructions

  • Pour eggnog, Aperol, gin, simple syrup, orange juice, and lime juice into a cocktail shaker.
  • Fill the shaker three-quarters full with ice.
  • Shake hard for around 15 seconds until well chilled.
  • Strain through a fine mesh strainer into a chilled glass.
  • Top with freshly grated nutmeg.
  • Add an orange twist or slice if desired.
  • Serve immediately while cold.

Notes

Use fresh citrus juice for best flavor. For a lighter feel, add a splash of club soda after straining, but note it will thin the creaminess. Adjust simple syrup based on sweetness of eggnog. Gin can be swapped for vodka or tequila, but avoid overpowering Aperol.
