  • Bar spoon or teaspoon

  • Ice bucket or wine cooler

Ingredients

  • 2 oz Aperol
  • 4 oz Champagne chilled, or any dry sparkling wine
  • 0.5 oz Orange liqueur such as Cointreau
  • Orange twist garnish
  • Soda water optional splash

Instructions

  • Chill your champagne flute for at least 5 minutes.
  • Pour in the Aperol.
  • Add the orange liqueur.
  • Slowly top with chilled Champagne, pouring down the side to preserve bubbles.
  • Add a splash of soda water if desired.
  • Gently stir with a bar spoon.
  • Garnish with an orange twist on the rim or in the glass.

Notes

Dry Champagne balances Aperol's sweetness better than sweet varieties. Prosecco works well for a softer version. Serve immediately to preserve bubbles. Rubbing the orange twist around the rim enhances aroma.
