Equipment

  • Cocktail shaker
  • Jigger
  • Bar spoon
  • Strainer
  • Rocks glass or coupe glass
  • Small plate
  • Ice

Ingredients

  • 2 oz Aperol
  • 1 oz Vodka plain
  • 1 oz Fresh lemon juice
  • 0.5 oz Simple syrup
  • 1-2 drops Peppermint extract optional
  • Ice for shaking
  • Crushed candy cane for rimming glass
  • Whole candy cane for garnish

Instructions

  • Rim the glass with lemon juice, then dip in crushed candy cane.
  • Fill the cocktail shaker with ice.
  • Add Aperol, vodka, lemon juice, simple syrup, and peppermint extract (if using).
  • Shake for 15–20 seconds until the shaker feels cold.
  • Strain into the prepared glass over fresh ice, or serve in a coupe without ice.
  • Garnish with a whole candy cane on the rim.

Notes

Use peppermint extract sparingly to avoid overpowering Aperol. For a lighter version, replace vodka with soda water after shaking. Mix sugar with crushed candy cane for a sweeter rim if desired. Chill glasses in advance to keep the drink colder longer.
