• Sharp knife

• Wine glasses

Ingredients

• 750 ml bottle red wine Spanish Rioja works well
• 1 cup silver tequila
• 1/2 cup triple sec
• 1/4 cup fresh lime juice
• 1/4 cup fresh orange juice
• 2 oranges sliced
• 2 limes sliced
• 1 apple diced
• 1 cup mixed berries strawberries, blackberries
• Club soda for topping
• Ice cubes

Instructions

• Slice all fruits into thin pieces. Place them in the pitcher.
• Pour the wine, tequila, triple sec, lime juice, and orange juice over the fruit.
• Stir the mixture gently with a long spoon.
• Put the pitcher in the fridge for 2-4 hours to let the flavors blend.
• To serve, fill glasses halfway with ice. Pour the sangria mixture through a strainer.
• Top each glass with a splash of club soda.
• Add fresh fruit garnish from the pitcher to each glass.

Notes

The sangria tastes best when made 2-4 hours ahead of serving time. This lets the fruits release their flavors.

Store leftover sangria in the fridge for up to 48 hours. The fruit may get softer after the first day.

For a less strong drink, reduce the tequila to 1/2 cup or add more club soda.

Choose ripe, fresh fruits for the best flavor. Frozen berries work well too.
