When I’m craving something tasty and refreshing but want to skip the alcohol, I end up making my Spiced Pear Cooler Mocktail.
It’s honestly such an easy recipe—lets me enjoy a cool, flavorful drink that works for pretty much any day or special moment.
The sweet, juicy flavor of ripe pears gets all cozy with warm spices, so every sip is comforting but still bright. Not bad for a little kitchen experiment, right?
I love whipping up this mocktail for family get-togethers or just when I’m chilling out on my own. Anyone can pull it off at home, really—just a handful of steps and you’re set.
If you want a new non-alcoholic drink, this spiced pear mocktail is one I’d absolutely recommend trying.
Spiced Pear Cooler Mocktail Recipe
This Spiced Pear Cooler is crisp, bubbly, and has a lovely warming note. I’m always surprised by how well ginger, pear, and spices play together for such a full, fresh taste.
Equipment
- Cocktail shaker: It just makes mixing everything so much easier.
- Fine mesh strainer: I use it if I want my drink extra smooth.
- Measuring spoons and cups: Helps keep things accurate (and less messy).
- Tall glass: Gotta have something to pour it into.
- Stirring spoon: Just to give it a quick mix before serving.
- Citrus juicer: For that fresh lemon juice.
- Knife and cutting board: To slice up pears or get garnishes ready.
- Small saucepan: If I’m making homemade spiced pear syrup, which is worth it sometimes.
Ingredients
- 4 oz pear juice (fresh or store-bought)
- 1 oz lemon juice (fresh squeezed)
- 1 oz spiced pear syrup* or maple syrup
- 1/2 tsp grated ginger or 1 thin slice fresh ginger
- 1 dash ground cinnamon or 1 inch cinnamon stick
- 2-3 oz sparkling water, soda water, or Topo Chico
- 1-2 star anise pods
- 2-3 whole cloves
- Fresh pear slices, for garnish
- Non-alcoholic whiskey (optional, if you want a grown-up twist)
*If I don’t have spiced pear syrup, I just use regular simple syrup and toss in a pinch of cinnamon and ginger.
Instructions
- Add pear juice, lemon juice, spiced pear syrup or maple syrup, grated ginger, and cinnamon (ground or stick) to your cocktail shaker.
- Want more flavor? Toss in star anise and cloves too.
- Fill the shaker with ice and shake it up well for about 20 seconds.
- Strain into a tall glass packed with fresh ice.
- Top with sparkling water, soda water, or Topo Chico and stir gently.
- Garnish with fresh pear slices, a cinnamon stick, star anise, or a little extra grated ginger.
- If you’re after a deeper flavor, a splash of non-alcoholic whiskey before the bubbles does the trick.
Notes
Freshly juiced pears make a difference, honestly. If I’m out of spiced pear syrup, I just mix maple syrup with a pinch of cinnamon and ginger—good enough for me.
For garnishes, I usually go with thin pear slices, a dusting of cinnamon, or a cinnamon stick. Star anise looks fancy and smells amazing. If I’m in the mood for more warmth, I’ll throw in a couple extra whole cloves or a thin slice of fresh ginger.
Topo Chico is my favorite for bubbles, but any good soda water or sparkling mineral water will do. If I’m making a pitcher, I mix everything except the sparkling water ahead of time—then pour and top with bubbles right before serving so it stays fizzy.

Tasting Notes
When I try the Spiced Pear Cooler Mocktail, the first thing that hits me is the gentle sweetness from the ripe pear. It’s not overly sugary—just the right amount to keep things refreshing.
The spices? They sneak in with a cozy warmth, bringing to mind those crisp fall days. Cinnamon stands out the most, with a little ginger hanging in the background, adding some interest without stealing the show.
Here’s what I’m picking up in each sip:
- Pear: Mild, fresh, and softly sweet
- Sparkling Water: Bubbles that keep things crisp
- Cinnamon and Ginger: Light spice, you can taste them but they’re not in your face
- Lemon Juice: A bit of freshness and tang that keeps the sweetness in check
If you go for the sparkling pear mocktail version, the bubbles really lift everything up and bring a playful fizz. Honestly, it feels perfect for a sunny afternoon—or maybe a family get-together when you want something a little different.
The pear mocktail just feels light and smooth every time I take a sip. The sparkling one? It’s a bit more fun, thanks to those bubbles. Either way, the pear stays front and center, with the spices making things a little more interesting.
