Pumpkin season is honestly one of my favorite times of year. I’m always looking for new ways to enjoy those cozy flavors.
If you’re after something creamy and cold, my Pumpkin Patch Smoothie Mocktail is a fun, tasty drink anyone can whip up. It’s great for fall parties, a family breakfast, or when you just want a quick treat.
This recipe’s super simple. No fancy ingredients needed.
I like using real pumpkin, a handful of spices, and milk or a milk alternative to keep things smooth and rich, minus the alcohol.
Ever wanted a drink that tastes like pumpkin pie in a glass? This is probably it.
Pumpkin Patch Smoothie Mocktail Recipe
I keep coming back to this smoothie mocktail because it’s creamy, just sweet enough, and full of those cozy fall spices. It’s kind of like pumpkin pie, but with a cool, creamy twist.
Great for a chilly morning or when I just want something sweet and refreshing.
Equipment
- Blender (A strong one’s best for smooth results.)
- Measuring cups and spoons
- Spatula or spoon for scraping
- Tall glasses for serving
- Straws and spoons (optional, but fun)
- Can opener if you’re using canned pumpkin
- Knife and cutting board if you want to get fancy with garnishes
Ingredients
- 1 cup pumpkin puree (not pumpkin pie filling)
- 1 cup apple cider (cold or chilled)
- 1/2 cup Greek yogurt or vanilla yogurt
- 2 tablespoons maple syrup (add more if you like it sweeter)
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup ice cubes
- Whipped cream (for topping)
- Extra cinnamon or nutmeg for a sprinkle on top
Instructions
- Toss pumpkin puree, apple cider, yogurt, maple syrup, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, pumpkin pie spice, vanilla, and ice cubes into your blender.
- Blend on high until it’s smooth and thick.
- Give it a taste. Not sweet enough? Add a bit more maple syrup.
- Pour into tall glasses.
- Top each with a swirl of whipped cream.
- Sprinkle on some extra cinnamon or nutmeg.
- Serve cold, with a straw or spoon.
Notes
Going dairy-free? Coconut yogurt works just fine.
Sometimes I add a splash more apple cider if the smoothie’s too thick. Unsweetened pumpkin puree keeps things from getting overly sweet.
If you’re wild about pumpkin spice, double up on it. Leftovers keep in the fridge for a day—just give it a good stir before drinking.
A cinnamon stick or apple slice makes a cute garnish if you’re feeling extra.

Tasting Notes
First sip? It’s super creamy. The pumpkin flavor is there, but not in-your-face.
You get those hints of cinnamon and nutmeg, too.
It’s sweet, but not cloying. The vanilla gives it this cozy warmth that just feels right.
The mix of spices really brings out the fall vibes.
Texture:
- Smooth and rich
- A bit thick, almost like a milkshake
- No weird chunks or bits
It honestly smells just like pumpkin pie. Each sip makes me think of cool autumn days.
Want it extra cold? Toss in more ice.
I like having this for breakfast or just as a snack. The flavor’s gentle and easygoing, so it’s hard not to like.

Substitute
Sometimes I just don’t have every ingredient sitting around, so I’ll do a few quick swaps to make the Pumpkin Patch Smoothie Mocktail work out.
Ingredient Substitutes:
- Ginger beer: If I’m not in the mood for all that spice or just want something lighter, I usually grab sparkling water. It keeps the bubbles but skips the ginger kick.
- Coconut milk: Out of coconut milk? I’ll reach for almond milk or oat milk—both give a creamy, nutty vibe that works surprisingly well.
Instructions for Substituting:
If the smoothie turns out too thick, I just pour in a bit more liquid—either sparkling water or whatever milk I’m using—until it feels right.
When I swap in sparkling water for ginger beer, I’ll toss in a pinch of cinnamon for a little extra something.
No coconut milk? I just pick the milk I like best and use the same amount.
