I love experimenting with classic cocktails, and honestly, the Lavender Mojito has become one of my favorites. It brings together fresh mint, lime, and lavender syrup for a crisp, floral drink that’s surprisingly easy to whip up—and it looks gorgeous too.
Adding that hint of lavender somehow makes the mojito feel a bit more special, but you don’t need any fancy bartending skills. Want to impress your friends, or just treat yourself to something a little different? This one’s a winner.

- Muddler or, honestly, just the back of a spoon
- Highball glass or any tall glass you like
- Bar spoon or your regular kitchen spoon
- Jigger or a shot glass for measuring
- Citrus juicer or just squeeze by hand (no shame)
- Small saucepan (if you’re making your own syrup)
- Fine strainer (for homemade syrup)
- Ice cubes
Ingredients
- 2 oz white rum
- 1 oz fresh lime juice
- 1 oz lavender simple syrup homemade or store-bought
- 8-10 fresh mint leaves
- Club soda or sparkling water to top
- Ice cubes
- Extra mint sprig and lime wedge for garnish
Instructions
- Add mint leaves and lavender syrup to your glass.
- Gently muddle the mint with the syrup—don’t smash it to bits, just enough to release the oils.
- Pour in the lime juice and rum.
- Fill the glass almost to the top with ice cubes.
- Stir everything together with a bar spoon or whatever you’ve got.
- Top it off with club soda or sparkling water.
- Garnish with a mint sprig and a lime wedge. Makes it look fancy.

Tasting Notes
The first thing that hits me with the Lavender Mojito is that cool, fresh burst from the mint. It’s crisp, with just a touch of sweetness.
Then, the lavender comes through, but it’s never too much.
It’s this soft, floral vibe—kind of gentle and calming, honestly. Just enough to keep things interesting.
The lime cuts in with a tartness that keeps the drink from getting too sweet.
It’s a nice balance with the syrup and that floral note.
And don’t forget the fizz from the club soda.
It’s bubbly, bright, and just wakes up the whole drink.
Each ingredient really has its moment, but none of them steal the show.
It all comes together for a cocktail that’s balanced, clean, and super refreshing.
Substitute
When I don’t have all the ingredients for a lavender mojito, I like to use easy substitutes.
This helps me keep the drink tasty without too much trouble.
Possible Ingredient Substitutes:
- Instead of fresh lavender, I sometimes use dried culinary lavender. I just use a bit less since it’s more potent—trust me, a little goes a long way.
- If I run out of lavender syrup, I mix simple syrup with a few drops of lavender extract. It’s not exactly the same, but it does the trick.
- For white rum, vodka works as a mild-flavored replacement.
- If I don’t have fresh mint, I use a small amount of mint extract. Sometimes I’ll even toss in basil leaves for a different twist—why not?
Non-Alcoholic Version:
- I sometimes make a mocktail using sparkling water or club soda instead of rum.
- Adding more lime juice gives the drink more flavor if skipping alcohol. It’s honestly pretty nice and super refreshing.
