Every Halloween, I try to come up with something a little special for my friends and family. Spooky drinks are always a crowd-pleaser, especially when they look cool and taste good.
My Ghoul’s Green Juice Mocktail is the perfect Halloween cocktail alternative—everyone can enjoy it, even the kids.
This bright green drink fits right in at any spooky party, and you don’t need any alcohol to make it fun. I love how easy it is to throw together, and honestly, it just looks awesome on the table.
The flavors are simple and tasty, so whether you’re throwing a big party or just chilling at home, it works. The color alone makes it pop, and it’s totally safe for everyone to sip.
If you’re after a festive, non-alcoholic option this Halloween, I’d definitely keep this recipe handy!
Ghoul’s Green Juice Mocktail Recipe
I like this drink because it’s easy, looks spooky, and tastes fruity. You only need basic tools and a handful of ingredients to get a bright green mocktail with a fizzy kick.
Equipment
- Cocktail shaker: I use this to mix and chill everything.
- Measuring cups and spoons: Makes it easier to get the amounts right.
- Highball glasses or punch bowl: Glasses for single drinks, punch bowl for a crowd.
- Stirring spoon: For mixing in ginger ale or toppings without spilling.
- Citrus juicer: Fresh lime and lemon juice taste best, so I go for a juicer.
- Small plate and shallow bowl: For rimming the glass with black sanding sugar.
- Ice: Gotta have it ready to keep things cold.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup pineapple juice
- 1/4 cup fresh lime juice
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon simple syrup
- 2 tablespoons blue curaçao syrup (non-alcoholic)
- 3/4 cup ginger ale
- 1 scoop lime sherbet (optional for an extra glow)
- Black sanding sugar (for glass rim)
- Lime wedge (to wet rim)
- Ice cubes
These are the basics for my Ghoul’s Green Juice Mocktail—bright, tasty, and fun. Sometimes I throw in more lime sherbet, or skip it if I want a lighter drink.
The black sanding sugar rim gives it that spooky touch, and people always ask how I did it.
Instructions
- Wet the rim of each glass with a lime wedge.
- Dip the rim into black sanding sugar on a plate until it’s coated.
- Fill your cocktail shaker halfway with ice.
- Pour in the pineapple juice, lime juice, lemon juice, simple syrup, and blue curaçao syrup.
- Shake it up until the shaker feels cold on the outside.
- Strain into the prepared glass with more ice.
- Slowly add ginger ale and stir gently to keep the fizz.
- Add a scoop of lime sherbet if you want a foamy top.
- Serve right away for the best bubbles and color.
Notes
Fresh juice really does make the drink taste brighter, in my opinion. If you can’t find blue curaçao syrup, a bit of blue food coloring and some extra orange syrup gets you close enough.
If I’m making a punch bowl, I mix the juices and syrup first, then add ginger ale and sherbet right before serving so it stays bubbly. Black sanding sugar looks awesome, but green works too if you want to switch it up.
This mocktail is totally kid-friendly, but if adults want a cocktail version, just swap in regular blue curaçao.

Tasting Notes
First sip? It’s crisp and tangy straight away. The lime juice gives it a zesty kick that really wakes up your taste buds.
You can taste the apple and pineapple working together for a gentle sweetness. The drink feels smooth and light, not thick or heavy, so it’s easy to keep sipping.
There’s a fresh, garden-y note from the spinach and mint, but it’s never too much. Here are some quick tasting points:
- Sweetness: Subtle, mostly from the apple and pineapple.
- Sourness: Noticeable, mainly from the lime juice.
- Freshness: Hints of spinach and mint.
- Texture: Light, with a little froth on top.
If I close my eyes, it’s just cool and refreshing, and the color is honestly half the fun—it really pops and feels a little spooky, which is perfect for the theme.
Sometimes I toss in extra lime or mint for more zing. It pairs well with simple snacks, and honestly, it’s a good drink for parties or just for myself when I want something festive.
